The Challenge
The 70 fetal monitor carts in this large L&D department had an all-in-one PC for both charting and viewing fetal monitor strips. Clinicians had to toggle back and forth between applications making workflow inefficient. Staff wanted to be able to monitor the fetal strips while completing their clinical charting.  Replacing the carts with a dual monitor set-up was not fiscally possible.

The Solution
After evaluating the existing wood carts, Seamless retrofitted each with a vertical dual monitor bracket to add an additional LCD.  The advantages were quickly realized with this configuration.  Both monitors were in the clinician’s line of site while charting.  The fetal strips monitor was on top and the charting monitor was at eye level for ergonomically correct data entry.  There was no increase in the footprint of the cart so mobility and storage were unaffected.  Seamless was able to extend the ROI of these assets and enhance the workstation experience.
