The Challenge
In-room devices for EMR needed to be incorporated into workflow practices in a way that wouldn’t diminish patient interaction and clinician efficiency.   Real-time data capture requirements called for computers and bar code scanners be placed in each room.  The customer wanted patient bar code verification and bedside charting tasks available in patient rooms.  This also needed to compliment the natural flow of patient care.

The Solution
Workflow space and facility layout can often dictate in-room device mounting configurations.  A preferred solution is an articulating arm.  Wall mounts allowed the clinician to maintain crucial/critical face to face interaction with the patient while using EMR equipment.  The arm stows against the wall with a low profile to make efficient use of limited space.  Scanner brackets are one of many accessories that can added to ensure everything is within reach.
